CHRISTIAN CHILDREN’S MINISTRY CERTIFICATION (CCMC)

BACKGROUND

We are living in a time in which our youth and young adults are falling away from Christ. Several recent studies show a massive decline in church attendance across the world.  According to Pew research, “65% of American adults describe themselves as Christians when asked about their religion, down 12 percentage points over the past decade.” Young adults are falling away faster than any other group, and the church needs to respond with all deliberate speed and efficacy.

Unfortunately, many churches are not poised to meet these challenges for several reasons:

  • Lack of vision and training.
  • Lack of funding.
  • Little emphasis on Children Ministries by leaders.
  • Uncommitted personnel who would rather work in other areas.
  • Nothing for children beyond Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
  • Lack of knowledge about evangelizing church.
In many cases, Children’s church operates as safe places to babysit children while their parents attend church. CTI is poised to address these issues with a comprehensive children ministry certification program.

BENEFITS FOR STUDENTS

The church is changing in incredible ways. Everyone in leadership must pursue innovative strategies to reach this present age. Students will gain a clearer understanding of the best practices in the field of children’s ministry for youth between the ages of 5 – 17. Those who have technological weaknesses will finally get the help they need in a community of likeminded learners. For the first time in the history of the COGBF, those individuals interested in children’s ministry are offered a comprehensive degree in this area of study.
